Dr. Keith A. Kaufman completed his Ph.D. training at The Catholic University of America, where his dissertation research involved investigating the effects of a new mindfulness-based treatment for athletes on the performance of archers and golfers. He attended undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in Psychology and Exercise and Sport Science, and received the Patrick F. Earey award to the outstanding senior Exercise and Sport Science major. He previously worked as a sport psychology consultant at Catholic University and at Virginia Tech, where he completed his pre-doctoral internship.
Dr. Kaufman has given numerous presentations in the community and at international psychological conferences. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). He currently operates his Washington, DC practice that is a part of Parkhurst Associates Mental Health Services, teaches Sport Psychology at Catholic University, is a Research Associate in the Psychology Department at Catholic University, and works part-time at the George Washington University Counseling Center.
