Dr. Keith A. Kaufman is a licensed psychologist who received his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America in 2008. His dissertation research involved investigating the effects of a mindfulness-based treatment he co-developed (MSPE) on the athletic performance of archers and golfers. He attended undergraduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in Psychology and Exercise & Sport Science, and was presented with The Patrick F. Earey Award to the outstanding senior Exercise & Sport Science major. He previously worked as a sport psychology consultant at Catholic University and at Virginia Tech.
Dr. Kaufman has given numerous presentations in the community and at international psychological conferences. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). He currently operates his practice at both Parkhurst Associates Mental Health Services and the Virginia Heart Comprehensive Weight Management Institute, teaches Sport Psychology at Catholic University, and is a Research Associate in the Psychology Department at Catholic University.
